Return of the Disciples

The Return of the Disciples!!
Lionel & Jianhui returned to have lunch with us at Delifrance today despite being very tired and lacking sleep. (Just look at their tired expressions)
Very happy to see them again.
Can see that they really enjoyed themselves at their NTU orientation camp.

They even bought some goodies for the people back at the office.
Aren't they really nice?
=)

After distributing the goodies, it was time for talking crap at my cubicle. Hehs..
They showed me some bonding 'IQ games' they played at their camp and some of em were really puzzling.
There was one game where Johnson didn't get the logic behind it after numerous attempts. Hahas..

Thanks for coming back guys.
In life, it's really hard to find sincere friends and I'm really glad I met these two at IRAS.
See you again bros...
For now....better go and sleep more... =D

Footy in the rain

Showers in the morning and early afternoon didn't dampen our spirits for our Sunday dose of DragonsCage footy.
In fact, the cool weather meant we could play even longer than usual.
I did score a few goals but I wasn't best pleased with my overall performance.

Now...now....hope I don't get feverish.... =S

Tomorrow, Monday, I'm going to take that small but significant step in my life.
A step which will go some way towards silencing the critics.
My favourite hobby is proving my doubters wrong.
And soon enough they will be surprised.

Rash Rush

Was supposed to catch a movie today but my buddy Rash stood me up. And not for the first time.
Called his handphone and he didn't bring it, called his home and his little bro said he already went out.
Well...at least it's not like the other time when I called him many times and when he finally answered.......with a sleepy voice he said.."What time is it?" =S
Disappointed but...maybe he has got some emergency or urgent matter to attend to.....
Decided against watching the show alone and did some shopping instead...
Now I'm back home to watch my football.... Football at the Dragonscage tomorrow..Yeah!!

another week comes to an end...

Went gym before work again today.
(SSC gyms opens at 7a.m. on Fridays so you can really do a quick, high intensity workout and still make it to work in time. Hehs...)
Can't wait for footy on Sunday...

Flashback Friday
Jacelyn once asked me why do I need to go gym & jog all that to maintain fitness when I'm just playing football for fun.. I explained that if a person is fitter or stronger then he will play even better...
Jace: But you are just playing for fun right?
Amins: I'm happy when I play well... =)

That's how I am I guess...I really work hard for stuffs that I'm passionate about...
And football is just one of the few things that can make me really happy...

Johnson looked much more cheerful today. He was really down yesterday. Was so quiet the whole day...
If the same incident happened many years ago, I would probably be upset about it or with him. But these days, I got this "Everything is gonna be alright" mentality and I take things in my stride....
Maybe I am really getting old... Hehs..
Hmm...Guess they are having fun right now.....

Walked past CCK's shopping extension on the way to the interchange and felt it has got potential. The human traffic there after school and office working hours is really good. And I think businesses can thrive there.
Was thinking that one day I will open a Famous Amins or an Amins Apparel there... Hehhs...

A chapter ends...

Today marks the end of Mel's half-year tenure at Revenue House.

January:
Amins: By the way...i forgot to intro myself just now...I'm A.
Mel: (giggles) oh ok...nice to meet u...

July:
Amins: (as my cold hand held her warm hand) Mel....take care...I'll miss you...(forces a smile)
Mel: Thanks.. (giggles) ok...

I would like to think that in her life story....I'm worthy of at least a small chapter.
Maybe not a very significant one...but an interesting and nice chapter nonetheless..
well...at least i hope so...
After all the misunderstandings, it's good that everything turns out alright.
And this is how this chapter ends I guess....on a good note.

Trust me Mel, one day you'll get your own fairytale ending.

Hero or Zero

Many months back, a hero gave a gal hand-made flowers, tulips.
Inside the tulips were nice little Hershey Kisses chocs.
Nice....
At that point of time, the gal seemed to be happy enough and all smiles.
Fast forward to present day...
...the gal threw away all the chocs to the bin in front of him declaring they are not nice at all.
Who is she kiddin?
It's suddenly 'not nice'.... maybe it's because they were from the hero of the show?
The hero wonders whether she would even appreciate his birthday gift...
The hero feels more like a Zero right now...

The hero does not hanker for anything. His actions were and still are unconditional...
Sometimes he feels unappreciated but its okay.... (shrugs)

EDITED (hours later): Realised that this was all a silly misunderstanding. Luckily she's not mad at me.. phewww~

Tired Tired Tired!!

Didn't sleep well last night. Had a lot of things on my mind. I think I just slept for 2 hours. Very tiring day today.....

Morning:
Football at the Dragonscage at NTU/NIE as usual. My performance wasn't satisfactory.. Was quite disappointed. Will try harder next time.

Afternoon:
Went to Halim's wedding straight after footy (yeap, after showering n grooming all dat ofcos haha)... Time really flies. It seems just like yesterday when Halim & me had this so-called feud in Sec 1 (just because I got the girl that he liked). Hehs..funny when I think about it.
Those were really the days...
Didn't really had a chance to talk a lot with him (cos me, Fad n Diq were abit late). But could sense that he was very nervous....biggest day of his life...who wouldn't be?
And it was really nice to see so many old faces from sec sch.
Quite a no. of pple commented that I've lost weight and look very different from last time.
(Yeap yeap...i used to be really fat..)
Can't wait for the next sec schmate to get married. Then all of us busy people can all meet up again. Hehs...

Evening:
Went straight back to Jurong Point to collect an important thing.
2 hours of sleep, football for 3+hours, wedding and then went back to J.P.. Wa...can u imagine how tired I am? Foooo~~
Ummmm..... After all the effort, I know fully well that I won't get anything in return...but i believe.....that when she sees my gift, she'll smile and appreciate it... That would really be good enough for me...

20072007

Hit the gym before going to work this morning. Been about a month since I last went and it's affecting my football during the weekends. Well...i think i've been performing ok but ok is not good enough.

And I bumped into Deveraj with one of his clients there.

Flashback Friday
It's funny when I think about how Deveraj used to be bullied (by girls!) in sec sch and now he's this big guy, a personal fitness trainer. Who could have predicted that?
There was even once in Sec 4 that he was thrown into and locked in a file cupboard (yeap he was that small and bully-able) and now he's this huge pony-tailed guy, a personal fitness trainer. Who could have predicted that?

Today was Nazira's last day and I think Joce must be pretty sad. Can see they are quite close. Decided to surprise msg her to take care and all the best for her future. (We don't even really know each other!) =S
Wan got 'criticised' in front of perm and temp staffs by L.P (albeit with good intentions). Thank goodness I've got the foresight to predict that kind of situation and personally went to her cubicle many weeks ago to explain my future plans etc.
However after that, both me and Wan agreed that LP was just trying to agitate him for his own good. LP is no meanie and we 'old guys' know that..

Went to Marina after work with Johnson, my emo buddy, to look at gadgets and stuffs.
Almost forgot it was 20072007 until Jiamin SMSed. Happy 20072007 everyone!!
And 20072007 is going to be the official opening day for this new blog. =S

WWW - insignificant stuffs

Its Wednesday! And it's time for.....
Wednesday Wonder Why!

As you can see from the previous entry, I've got an incredible memory.
Just by thinking about some events.. I can recall even the most tiniest of details.
A friend told me, "I don't get why you must get bothered and remember such insignificant stuffs"
To be honest, many times I just wish I can delete some of the stuffs in my memory so that I can free more space. =S
I know it's not good to remember trivial, insignificant stuffs when there are other more important things to be focused on.
I just can't help it.
The only logical reason I can think of is that my brain probably wants me to remember so that I will learn from the past errors or actions either by me or others...

Hmmm.... Wonder wonder why....

Solved

Had this silly misunderstanding with this friend of mine. Recently she was very reluctant to talk to me and gave me the cold treatment. At first I didn't know what was going on and only after I used the Amins Flashback Technique to think things through that I realised that I'm the one who caused all this.....

Today:
Solved! We are finally talking to each other normally like we used to do. I knew someday things will be okay and I'm pleased that everything is finally alright. I didn't want to lose a friend especially someone who is really good-natured like her.

Saturday:
Hi-ed her on MSN but she didn't reply. Decided to go ahead and explain that I didn't mean to cause her any agony and that this was all a misunderstanding. I gave her the wrong idea even though it was unintentional. I apologised but she didn't reply. I guessed it was just awkward for her to respond.

Last mid-week:
Cold and gave me arrogant glances. I texted her "can I please kindly clarify something with you?" No reply. Didn't want to annoy her so decided to let matters rest and wait a few days. Believed that things will be okay soon enough.

Many many days ago II:
Started to suspect that she was mad at me. Wanted to make sure that I'm the guy who's supposedly causing the problem. SMSed her. No reply. That's the answer.

Many many days ago:
Saw her personal message on MSN. She was stressed out over someone. Was concerned.
Wanted to ask her about it. But she didn't respond.

Many many many days ago:
Was chatting with her on MSN and she was a bit sarcastic. I was abit blur and perplexed. She said something like "i'm not one who impose my will on others". I was like 'Huh'. Asked her why the seriousness and she said "Sometimes we should be serious" I was like 'Huh' again. =S

Many many many many days ago:
Decided to tease my friend anonymously.. (..yeah dumb I know...i was just too bored la..) In the evening when she was online, she asked me about it and I admitted I was the one who disturbed her. Insisted that I was just fooling around. Told her not to take it too seriously and that it was all just a lame joke.

Yesterday

Friday the 13th, July 2007....

Last day for two of my disciples, Lionel & Jianhui who are leavin to further their studies and it's natural for me to be sad.
I've lost count of the no. of times I've said goodbye but it still feels the same everytime.

Ate loads today and got a lot of chocs. =p~~
I baked some Famous Amin cookies for the gang as well. And I have to say Im pleased that even though some of em were full, they still willingly accepted.

Went to Clarke Quay after work for dinner.
Food by the Riverside was good... good ambience... good company. Nice~~
And there was a surprise birthday celebration for Dezhan's gf, Evelyn.

Things nearly didnt go to plan as we didnt know the Starbucks there had already ceased operation. My two disciples had to make a quick trip to Cityhall to buy the cake. Well done guys!

But still the thing ended well as the shy bday gal whispered to Dezhan to tell us that she's very grateful but too stunned to tell us herself. Awwwww~~

We then took so many pictures over there that tourists were starting to wave at us...hahha..
(probably thought we were tourists too)
Then we played pool until the early hours of Sat morning.
The rest took cab home but me n Johnson preferred to walk to Somerset to take the NR while having yet another one of our (now frequent) 'emo chats'. Hahha.

Friday the 13th, July 2007...
nothing unlucky happened..well i've never believed in that black friday thingy anyway..
one thing i believe is that i'll definitely miss my two disciples, probably two of the best TTAs there so far, partly becos they had a good shifu to guide them (hehs) and mostly becos thats how they are... sensible, efficient, hardworking & responsible.
Will always remember the times we talked crap together, discussed our favourite show Heroes together, played cards together, lunched and ate ice-cream together and ofcos both of you singing my English version of Bu Neng Shou De Mi Mi (lol)..
Best of luck guys. A bright future awaits the both of you... =)
